Performance of MEPs – 2019

Performance of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), before the European elections of 26th May 2019.

The European elections held in Portugal on May 26, 2019 aimed to choose the 21 Portuguese MEPs who will represent us in the European Parliament for the next 5 years. The availability of credible, measurable and public information plays a key role in making better and/or more conscious choices.

This analysis aims to assess the impact of MEPs’ actions in the European context, based on data collected by the public website MEP Ranking, which since 2009 has systematically monitored all activities undertaken in the European Parliament, providing a set of indicators and rankings on various areas of activity of the members. The various indicators presented are calculated based on rigorous research done in 2016 by a policy data analysis research agency – http://datarada.eu/ – whose study went through a validation by MEPs themselves of the effort associated with each type of action.
