I have chosen to first define blockchain technology and make known its functionality, context, and evolution over the past decades.  <\/p>\n\n<p>It was proposed for this dissertation to survey, through existing secondary sources, the applications and possible potentials of blockchain technology in the financial, legal, and humanitarian domains.  <\/p>\n\n<p>It was concluded that the potential of blockchain technology in different domains is enormous and that it is already being used, not only by financial institutions, but also by non-profit organizations, governmental organizations, and private entities.
